State Office for Agriculture, Food Safety and Fisheries MV State of MV
Location: Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize certification processes for seeds and planting material.
- Handle login and system access issues.
- Grant exemptions under Seed and Plant Cart Ordinances.
- Conduct field tests in problem cases.
- Implement legislative changes and review research methods.
- Organize sampling and decide on recognition procedures.
- Advise and instruct on legal regulations, propagation, processing, and storage of seeds.
- Process export inquiries for seed potatoes and combine crops.
- Conduct assessments and take samples.
- Review laboratory results and create certificates according to international standards.
- Perform control activities under the Seed Trade Act.
- Conduct operational inspections and random market checks.
- Initiate measures for administrative offenses.
- Prepare and implement training and continuing education events.
- Create statistics, analyses, guidelines, and presentations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diplom-Agricultural Engineer (FH) in Agriculture or Agricultural Sciences.
- Knowledge of crop propagation, seed and seed potato storage, pest biology, varieties, and seed/planting material law is desirable.
- Commitment, independent work, teamwork skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexible working hours.
- Confident in MS Office.
- Class B driving license and suitability for field service.
- Proficient in German (spoken and written) and English.
