Job Description

Location: Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize certification processes for seeds and planting material.
  • Handle login and system access issues.
  • Grant exemptions under Seed and Plant Cart Ordinances.
  • Conduct field tests in problem cases.
  • Implement legislative changes and review research methods.
  • Organize sampling and decide on recognition procedures.
  • Advise and instruct on legal regulations, propagation, processing, and storage of seeds.
  • Process export inquiries for seed potatoes and combine crops.
  • Conduct assessments and take samples.
  • Review laboratory results and create certificates according to international standards.
  • Perform control activities under the Seed Trade Act.
  • Conduct operational inspections and random market checks.
  • Initiate measures for administrative offenses.
  • Prepare and implement training and continuing education events.
  • Create statistics, analyses, guidelines, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diplom-Agricultural Engineer (FH) in Agriculture or Agricultural Sciences.
  • Knowledge of crop propagation, seed and seed potato storage, pest biology, varieties, and seed/planting material law is desirable.
  • Commitment, independent work, teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Confident in MS Office.
  • Class B driving license and suitability for field service.
  • Proficient in German (spoken and written) and English.
